For some time now we have been concluding our weekend gatherings with an extended season of worship, going to the cross, receiving Holy Communion, and leaving our prayer needs, in written form, on the cross.
Our staff is honored to receive every prayer written there and to pray for each one. We are more than humbled to read, each week, all that God is doing in and through the weekend gatherings.
This weekend we received ten pages, typed in twelve font, of deeply moving prayer needs.
Thank you for entrusting us with your God directed requests.
We are adding a presenter to the Holy Spirit Conference. Dr. Castleberry is unable to participate, and is sending Edgar in his stead. I can hardly wait to meet and learn from Pastor Montano. Edgar Montano is Lead Pastor of Iglesia Torre Fuerte (Strong Tower Church) in San Salvador, El Salvador. A product of Assemblies of God World Missions ministry, he grew up in the pastorate of missionary John Bueno. As a child from a poor family, he was one of the first children sponsored under what became Latin America ChildCare. He began his pastoral ministry in 1978, later serving as a missionary to Panama (1980-82). Upon his return to El Salvador in 1983 he founded the church he now pastors. Located in a beautiful upper-class neighborhood on the South side of San Salvador, Torre Fuerte is a growing church of 500 with a strong focus on discipleship. In addition to his church leadership work, Pastor Montano is an author, teacher and conference speaker who has ministered in the USA in 16 states and in 16 countries around the world. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the United Bible Society of El Salvador and was national director of Global University for 20 years. He is married and has two adult children.
MCA’s ever cool, rad, and totally “sick,” Howard Hansen, Lady Lynn Aleshire, and Sir Kevin Aleshire, are making Element “the bomb.” The addition of cable television, five flat screens, and an occasional Wii, PS2, or PS3, help make the room a party headquarters for the MCA family.
Yes, it is the happiest season of the year for two reasons: 1. We celebrate the birth of Jesus. 2. College football bowl games.
Now, the birth of Jesus has no close second. It stands alone as the reason for the season……and He was born for you. So, in a sense, you are the reason for the season. God loves you and sent his Son for your benefit.
Way, way down the line is college football.
I am planning to watch several bowl games at Element. There are 31 bowl games, so we need to select the games we want to watch. My proposal is as follows:
1. The Rose Bowl on January 1. Let’s watch as Oregon continues Ohio States bowl woes. I predict Oregon wins by 3.
2. The Sugar Bowl on January 1. Could it be that Cincinnati takes down Florida or is it Tebow time?
3. The Tostitos Fiesta Bowl on January 4. Yep, it’s time for Boise to teach TCU a thing ortwo.
4. BCS National Championship on January 7. Good bye ‘bama. I’m cheering for Texas all the way.
If you want to request other games, please let me know.
ELEMENT worship takes off to the next level on Sunday, November 15 at 11:15 a.m. Have you felt that you or your friends don’t “fit” in the usual same old, same old, church service? ELEMENT might be just your style.
ELEMENT is designed for the REI, Mooses Tooth, and Flat Top climbing, crowd. If you hiked somewhere this summer, ELEMENT may be for you. If you kayaked this summer, ELEMENT may be for you. If you play disk golf, ELEMENT may be for you. If you rode your bike more than fifty miles on one ride, ELEMENT may be for you. If you jet skied, water skied, or snow boarded, ELEMENT may be for you. If you own a Wii, play games on Facebook, or worked out listening to a home made play list on your MP3 player, ELEMENT may be for you.
People who attend ELEMENT understand why people like Iphones, Hillsong United, and MAC computers. They get why people have unlimited texting on their mobile phones. Twitter makes sense to them.
These folks know that worship isn’t about the person up there singing, but about a genuine relationship with the God to whom she is singing.
Yvonne and Tim Rowland and Bryan and Tracy Fick have assembled a winning leadership team for providing the resources for the purchase of our Adult Development Center, building the North Campus, and increasing our ministry space of Children’s Ministry.
In the day services this Sunday you will meet the leadership team and hear more about the awe inspiring opportunities we are laying hold of by faith.
We all know many great stories of God’s miraculous provision in the past. Together we commit to seeing God renew His mighty works in our day.
She met our Savior through the 2009 drama Heaven’s Gates and Hell’s Flames. Element became one of her primary venues for weekend worship where she learned the principles of Jesus. Hart and Kelly helped in the discipleship process. Element Worship Pastor Tracy Hodges baptized her in water. I love the links in one’s spiritual journey.
