Death is Dead and Life Lives!

Because of Jesus, death is dead and Life lives!

The cross and the Christ are and (always have been) counter cultural.

For example, the culture demands the question, “Is it politically correct?”  The cross demands the question, “Is it Christologically correct?”

In Isaiah 5 the prophet saw this battle both in his day and in ours.

In verses 1 and 2 God is seen as the Vineyard Owner who planted an amazing vineyard (Israel) BUT it only produced wild grapes.

God asks a powerful question in verse 4, “What more was there to do for my vineyard that I have not done in it?”  What more is there for God to do in order for you to produce good fruit?

Through the prophet Isaiah God lists several reasons that Israel has produced wild grapes (vs. 8, 11, 18, 20, 21, 22) rather than good fruit.

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”  Isaiah 5:20

What the culture calls life is actually death and the true life found in Jesus is considered death. Proverbs 14:12

To them, death is life and life is death.  2 Corinthians 2:16, 17

A book, a commercial, and two songs.

Today, I stand with the Bible and the revealed truth of Heaven and Hell.

For those who are trusting in the blood of Jesus, death is dead (1 Corinthians 15:55) and Life lives (John 11:25, 26).

In the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus death is dead and true Life lives!

John 5:24 explains a two step process for personally participating in the experience of death being dead and Life being alive:  1.  Hear (obey) Jesus words, and 2.  Believe (trust) God.  This person will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life.
