Rise! Let us go.

Our 2011 Global Outreach theme is based upon Jesus’ words in the Garden of Gethsemane. His travail of soul and battle with sorrow now over, he was ready to get on with the work of His Father. Jesus was ready and salvation came to human kind.

MCA has also experienced a season of “gethsemanizing.” Gethsemane, to my understanding, means “the place of the olive press.” The pressure of loss and disappointment has been in our congregation’s collective heart for many months.

Feeling our feelings of loss and sorrow, it is now time for us as a congregation to “Arise! Let’s be going” about our Father’s business too.

All of October we will be raising our levels of commitment, awareness, and zeal for God’s work globally. We think you will find a heightened “fired-up-ness” for Jesus’ work in our world.

The attached video moves me. Somehow it calls me, deeply calls me, to arise into the work the Lord has for us to do.
