Today we honored the lives of Carrie Rusche and Elmer Kee. Both Carrie and Elmer were laid to rest in the Kee family gravesite in Chelsea, Oklahoma. Although Carrie died at the age of 43 in Arizona and Elmer died in Anchorage in his 87th year of age related causes, the father and daughter joint memorial service was a perfect blend. The highlight of the service, for me, was a beautiful tribute given by Elmer’s great grandson, Robbie. Deep emotions moved me as I observed the military honors and listened to the playing of Taps.
