Forty Days of Prayer: November 5

Pastor Fay designed our guide for these 40 Days of Prayer.  Her thoughtful selection of the Bible passages we are using to direct the content of our prayers has been very helpful and Spirit led.  Thank you, Pastor Fay.

Titus 3:14 is the basis of our prayer content today.

“Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order that they may provide for daily necessities and not live unproductive lives.”

As a young adult this verse became extremely important to me, and has stayed vital to my life throughout the years.  Somewhere around 24 years of age I decided to adopt Paul’s teaching and I devoted myself to live a productive life.

Un-productive and under-productive lives are all around us.  The mediocrity creates a type of gravity that defies anyone to leave it’s mundane orbit.  Into that negative reinforcing cycle Paul calls us to break the barrier and burst into productivity.

“Lord, today we ask you to help us be devoted to leaving the unproductive and embracing all that we can become in you.  Give us wisdom to know which choices to make in order to be productive.  AMEN”
