Forty Days of Prayer: October 10

Faith and prayer are often in direct proportion to each other.  As prayer increases, faith also multiplies.  With faith growing, prayer becomes a more significant part of our daily experience too.

Interestingly, the Apostle James links the two, “And the prayer of faith…..”  Makes me wonder.  There is a prayer without faith, but I am not sure there is faith without prayer.  In essence, faith prays.

Today’s prayer focus is from Ephesians 3:20-21.

20Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Through our Capital Campaign, chapels, classrooms, meeting spaces, a library, and venues are being built that will provide space where there is “glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations…”

Our buildings won’t last forever, but the glory in the lives of those who enter and are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit will be throughout all generations.

‘Lord, I ask you to give us grace to trust you for exceedingly and abundantly more than we can ask and imagine.  Not for our own purposes.  Not for momentary ecclesiastical thrill.  We pray this for greater glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations!!!! AMEN!
