Forty Days of Prayer: October 13

And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.  Colossians 1:10-12

Parenting sure has its challenges…… What is the end result for which we are parenting?  Great at sports?  Super grades?  Entrance into the best university?  Fame?  Fortune?  Popularity?

Our prayer focus drives us away from the social standards so powerful upon us and returns us to God’s measurement of success.  Parents, your job is to raise children who live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way.  Children who bear fruit in every good work and are growing in the knowledge of God.

In fact, nothing else matters.

“Lord, may the facilities we develop through the Heroic Heritage and Phenomenal Future capital campaign, be spaces where people, especially students and children, learn to live lives worthy of you and how to please you in every way.  AMEN.”
