Today’s prayer focus begins with praise to the LORD who gave rest to the people of Israel just as He promised. Praise is a natural response to God’s promise keeping nature and character. God is worthy of praise independent of everything. He is worthy just as He is. We are prone to say, “God is worthy because….” However, God is worthy without any because. It is appropriate to simply say, “God is worthy.”
Our praise worthy God is also the promise worthy God. He is worthy because He keeps all promises in every way and He is worthy of the promises we make to Him. God’s promises and our promises to God are part of our holy journey.
Sisters and brothers, not one word of God has ever failed, which, if God only said a word or two might not be too impressive, but God’s promises are too numerous to count. His word is as good as done. He comes through every time. He is praiseworthy and trustworthy.
1 Kings 8:56 (New International Version)
56 “Praise be to the LORD, who has given rest to his people Israel just as he promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises he gave through his servant Moses.
“Lord, as we work with you for your purposes, please give us grace to trust your promises and to give from our head, heart, and hands into your work. AMEN”
