Maxine Combs Honored

Maxine Combs was thrown a delightful celebration of life gathering by her family and friends. Maxine fought, valiantly, against an aggressive form of cancer and in the midst of the fight let everyone know that she did not want a funeral, memorial, or any other type of service. So, with services not being an option, a celebration of life was planned. Jamie (daughter) and Jerry (husband) put together a very meaningful time of closure. God was glorified and Maxine was honored.

One of Jamie’s ideas was for the guests to write notes on balloons which she then released into the summer sky. As the balloons floated out of sight, I was reminded of the fact that life is just a vapor. Soon each of us will “drift out of sight.” Yet we live forever.

Are you prepared to stand before God when you can no longer be seen here?
