#ORANGE21 – Girgis Milad Sinweet

Girgis Milad Sinweet is the tenth Egyptian martyr we are honoring in #ORANGE21.  Entering into the experience of the twenty-one martyrs produces an overwhelming awareness of the immeasurable volume of darkness and wickedness in our world.

I can not imagine the weightiness should one attempt to honor the holocaust victims by giving one day of reflection for each person.  With no one being exactly sure of the number of precious people slaughtered let’s use a conservative 6,000,000.

We need SIXTEEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND THIRTY-EIGHT YEARS to honor one holocaust victim each day.

The immeasurable weightiness of wickedness is incomprehensible.

Chapter 6 of the Revelation reveals a prayer of “Lord, we trust You, but we are having a difficult time understanding You.  Why are you waiting so long as our beloved are slaughtered?  Why aren’t you taking action?”

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne. 10 They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge andavenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11 Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants[c] and their brothers[d] should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been.

Ten days in a row I have considered the martyrdom of Egyptian villagers who were simply seeking to make a meager earning for their families.  On this tenth day I too cry out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long?”

Girgis Milad Sinweet’s blood produces prayer both on earth and at the Altar of Incense.

MARCH 22 copyIn Honor, Respect and Gratitude for Girgis Milad Sinweet

HEAVENLY FATHER, WE LIFT UP EGYPT TO YOU AS A NATION, KNOWING THAT THE NATIONS TO YOU ARE BUT A DROP IN THE BUCKET. WE ALSO LIFT UP TO YOU THOSE PEOPLE IN EGYPT WHO ARE UNASHAMED OF YOUR NAME AND OF YOUR SON JESUS CHRIST. I PRAY FOR THE LOVED ONES OF THOSE WHO HAVE SURVIVED THE HORRIFIC PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS IN EGYPT. COMFORT THEM IN THEIR GRIEF AND GIVE THEM GRACE TO STAND UP FOR JESUS REGARDLESS OF THE COST. AS TERTULLIAN PUT IT YEARS AGO ’THE BLOOD OF THE MARTYRS IS THE SEED OF THE CHURCH’, SO I ASK YOU TO GRANT THAT THE ANOINTING ON YOUR PEOPLE IN EGYPT WILL DOUBLE, TREBLE AND QUADRUPLE, LEADING TO THOUSANDS OF MORE CONVERTS TO JESUS CHRIST. GET GLORY TO YOUR NAME IN OUR DAY AS YOU DID IN MOSES’ DAY WHEN THE PHARAOH’S HEART WAS HARDENED. IN JESUS’ NAME. AMEN.

Comfort all who mourn today.
