For several months Pastor Billy has been speaking and praying with Pastor Fay about a calling from the Lord to step boldly out of the boat and to take a risk for the work of the Lord in his life.
MCA totally and completely support the process of our pastors finding further insight into God’s calling upon their lives. Pastors have “rock dreams” too.
In the MCA organizational order, the Children’s Pastor, Youth and Young Adult Pastor, and the Married Life Pastor are all ministries that flow through the organizational lead of Pastor Fay.
Following Pastor Sebastiaan Van Wessem’s powerful message on March 15 about the calling of God upon Jonah, Pastor Fay reported to me, “God is up to great things in Pastor Billy. Since October God has been speaking to Billy about leaving youth ministry at MCA and moving into a fresh and invigorating calling. Unfortunately for us, that means he will be leaving the MCA pastoral leadership team.”
Today we celebrate with Pastor Billy, Aubrey, and their children, the bold step they are making as they “Step out of the boat and into their bright future.” June 21 will be Pastor Billy’s final Sunday on the MCA pastoral ministry team.
MCA global ends policy states, “God is glorified and people are transformed into the image of Jesus Christ.” Pastor Fay, knowing it was her assignment to fulfill this ends policy, recruited, selected, directed, and supervised Pastor Billy. Pastor Fay stated, nearly two years ago, after her extensive search for the person she wanted to have help her accomplish the mission, “Pastor Kent, I know Billy is God’s man for this position.”
Let me highlight four ministries that indicate Pastor Fay was correct.
1. Pastor Billy and Aubrey coordinated the popular and transformative Junior and Senior High School Sunday School class. Their selection of Margie Cox to teach the Junior High and Dr. Perkins the Senior High was brilliant.
2. Pastor Billy and Aubrey coordinated the launch of MCA’s Sermon Based Home Groups for our teens. These groups are called Journey groups.
3. Pastor Billy and Aubrey coordinated the launch of Wednesday Night of the Arts, which includes training in guitar, vocal, worship teams, drums, and drama.
4. Pastor Billy and Aubrey coordinated and launched the ambiance and design of the MCA Element venue.
We celebrate with Pastor Billy the work God has done and look forward, with great joy to the work He will continue to do in and through them.
Billy and Aubrey, as you continue to seek the will of God regarding what is next in your ministry, please know that MCA would love to be your church home. As you leave our pastoral staff, you do not leave our hearts. We love you.
