Family and friends of Sister Ruth Sommers gathered to honor her life and legacy. Respect, joy, and thankfulness filled the remembrance gathering and fueled a strong sense of a blessed future hope. Featured in the service were family, friends, and ministry.
Much of Ruth’s life was lived in ministry, especially music ministry. Only eternity knows how many thousands of people were motivated, inspired, and uplifted by the musical genius of this valiant woman of faith.
I was exceedingly privileged to sit under Ruth’s teaching and influence. More than any other she gave shape to my small part in music ministry.
I have the joy of being friends with several of her children, grand children, and great grand children.
