The Spirit’s Power at Work

God has enabled us, as we are dependent upon the Holy Spirit, to live in great power!  In the Person of the Spirit you are fully enabled for an abundant ministry of declaring Jesus to the world.

The University of Alaska Anchorage Chi Alpha Director, Steven Pavek, presents the following message to you today.

The Power at Work

  • We all have a desire that has been hard wired into us for power!
  • Our choices between things – Home improvement – USS Midway
  • God has given us more power than we could ever realize!
    • Power in the spiritual realm
    • Battle not against flesh and blood
  • Dunamis!
Used over 100 times in the New Testament!
  • The Promises of Power
  • John 14:12
Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
  • Acts 1:8
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

We need to realize the power that is living in us for 2 reasons:

  1. So that the church can be encouraged
    1. Isaiah 50:4 – – The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue; to know the word that sustains the weary
  2. So that others can see the signs and wonders and believe!
    1. Jesus promised miracles to accompany the preaching of the gospel
      1. Cannot deny the power of a changed life
      2. Story of Shula

Acts 3:1-12
