The Value of God’s Word in a Student’s Life

This evening is the final session of the “2012 Fire in the Fall.” Howard and Rezia Hansen, MCA Church Youth Directors, are committed to the long-term personal growth, development, and discipleship of our teenagers. Growing spiritually mature is a constant process for us all. However, the decisions younger people make, without the benefit of years of training, teaching, experience, and wisdom, can alter their destiny for the rest of their lives.

I will never forget the day I first met a young teen murderer. He was 13, blonde with blue eyes, and looked to be every mother’s dream child. Somehow, I know not how, he killed someone. For the rest of his life he will carry the knowledge of a decision he made at only 13 years of age.

“Fire in the Fall,” created many years ago by Pastor Kent Elder, is specifically designed for students to encounter the Living God, the Living Scriptures, and the Living Body of Christ, in application to the living moments of their lives.

Pastors John and Paula Zimmerman are presenting a solid, grounded, and life giving teaching from 2 Peter 1 in each of the “Fire in the Fall” sessions.

The wise parent understands the importance of their child being “under the influence” of Biblical teaching. They know that even if the student doesn’t understand all the details of how it all works, that “the entrance of God’s word brings light and understanding to the simple.” Psalm 119:130

Special thanks to Howard and Rezia and John and Paula for soaking our teens in God’s word.
