Several years ago I began to appreciate the celebration of the Lenten season and the spiritual disciplines that accompany this historic Christian practice. I now fast and pray at a much more intense level from Ash Wednesday until Resurrection morning.
Tonight we honored the tradition of repentance in sack-cloth and ashes by having ashes placed upon our foreheads. May we learn to live with a repentant heart all year long, never letting the sun set on sin in our lives.
